BSS: Body Smart System

BSS: Body Smart System is a framework that incorporates elements of various evidence-based practices that produces a well balanced approach to stretching. Attention to more elements that contribute to restrictions in the range of motion, stability in movement through the ranges of motion and emotional connection to the practice, for example, the fascia, nerves and a broader connection to psychosomatics.

This perspective puts a different intentionality to varying levels of practice, as it isn't just about increasing difficulty with harder asanas. It becomes about challenging the restriction of the asana in a safely progressive way. This can be seen by the unassisted range of motion around a joint increasing and become more stable at the same time.

More than the physical aspect to the practice, there is still a focus on connecting mental and emotional systems to the physical practice. That can look like being mindful of the ego as the end range of a posture is being explored.
